Who Is Dr. Tyra

Dr. Tyra, EdD, MSN, FPA, FNP-BC is a sought-after nursing leader, educator, clinician, and consultant with over 30 years of experience. Dr. Tyra’s academic achievement merits a Professor in Nursing where she has personally provided instruction at all levels of nursing education. Dr. Tyra has led various Colleges and Schools of Health Sciences and understands the importance of nursing education and the various challenges students face when completing their education. Dr. Tyra has served on various Boards of Nursing and Health Care Committees as well as has been a peer evaluator and evaluation review committee member for ACEN and a member of the Education Sustainability Committee for AANP. Dr. Tyra has presented at various national conferences and addressed the importance of interdisciplinary teams in healthcare. Dr. Tyra has been a Principal Investigator for several healthcare and nursing grants to improve nursing students’ competency with virtual reality, simulation as well as a recent grant to decrease workforce nursing shortages. Dr. Tyra is a collaborator, motivator and continues to work within at-risk communities to improve healthcare outcomes.
